FOOD & BEVERAGE QUALITY STANDARDS

The Good Wife Gourmet proudly operates a ‘ from scratch’ kitchen where everything is prepared in-house with the finest and freshest ingredients using a wide variety of local products. We provide customized, creative service for all meal deliveries and events and guarantee the highest possible standards of performance.

ALLERGIES

Please be aware that our food may contain or come into contact with common allergens, such as dairy, eggs, soybeans, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, or wheat.

We are a peanut free kitchen, however we ARE NOT a nut-free kitchen.

We can accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free dietary requests, however we are not a gluten-free or dairy-free kitchen.

We take all the required food safety precautions to avoid cross contamination, including

  • Keep preparation surfaces clean

  • Use clean pans, cutting boards and cooking utensils or use dedicated or colour-coded preparation areas, equipment, utensils etc. when possible

  • Use clean or dedicated fryers, grills and slicers

  • Use clean serving trays and serving utensils

  • Keep non-allergens from touching allergens

  • Avoid allergen spilling or leaking into non-allergen ingredients

  • Schedule prepping and cooking non-allergens first following regular cleaning and sanitizing

Please note that we do not have a separate kitchen to prepare allergen-free items. We therefore cannot offer a 100% guarantee on allergies as risks are still possible from cross-contamination. We strongly recommend a customer with a life-threatening allergy who is severely allergic to any ingredient to assess these risks before dining with us.

FRESHNESS OF FOOD

You are responsible for ensuring that your Meal Delivery is safe for consumption once we’ve delivered it to your door. Failure to follow appropriate food cooking, safety, and handling practices may increase risk of foodborne illnesses. For more information on safe food handling, check out the Government of Canada’s Safe Food Handling Tips.
